INSTALLATION OF THE NEW RECTOR OF THE UNIVERSITY OF BERTOUA

Appointed on 09 April, Professor Dieudonné Emmanuel PEGNYEMB was installed on 17 April 2024 by the Minister of State, Minister of Higher Education, Professor Jacques Fame NDONGO. The ceremony was held at the Place des Fêtes in Bertoua in the presence of several personalities. They came to pay a well-deserved tribute to the new Rector who, in addition to his rich academic and administrative career, is presented as a perceptive leader who listens to and serves the educational community. Taking the floor, the Minister of State, Minister of Higher Education, declared: ‘A seasoned chemist replaces a sparkling mathematician’. In view of the impressive professional and administrative record of the new Rector, I have no doubt whatsoever that he will be able to steer the University of Bertoua with dexterity, tenacity and inventiveness. In fulfilling his mission, the new Rector will have to invest rigorously in the implementation of University 4.0, with the appropriation of artificial intelligence with a view to extending digital technology. He must also work to operationalise the concept of the inter-university partnership, which is firmly enshrined in the new law on the orientation of the Ministry of Higher Education, promulgated by the Head of State on 27 July 2023. This will enable the Universities to create wealth, to create jobs and to give the means to the students to enable them to live normally their teaching", specified the Chancellor of the Academic Orders who asked the happy elected one to continue with rigour the work begun by his predecessor, Pr Rémy Magloire ETOUA. Under the patronage of the Rector of the University of Bertoua, Prof. Remy Magloire Etoua, the Ecole Normale Supérieure organised on Thursday 28 March 2024 a Capacitation Seminar for its teachers. The meeting was held in the VIP room of the new headquarters building of the Bertoua town hall. Theme: "Techniques and Methods of Evaluation of Student-Teachers and Guidance Counsellors admitted to practical training for the 2023/2024 academic year".

The University of Bertoua signed several partnership agreements on Wednesday 21 February 2024. The first agreement links the University to the Centre National d'Etude et d'Experimentation du Machinisme Agricole (CENEEMA). The two parties intend to work together to enable students at the Institut Superieur d'Agriculture du Bois de l'Eau et de l'Environnement to complete their training through mastery of agricultural machinery and other techniques. CENEEMA staff wishing to extend their academic studies in Agro-Sylvo-Pastorale can do so at ISABEE, as the school offers courses up to Doctorate/PhD in Agronomic Sciences and Biological Engineering.
